CELEBRANCY

FUNERAL - BABY NAMING - WEDDING

Welcome to my website!

My name is Alan Morgan, and I’m a Civil Family Celebrant based in Dundee. A Civil Celebrant is an Officiant that carries out ceremonies for all family occasions including:

  • Funerals, burials, memorial and interment of remains
  • Baby naming, child introduction, gender reveal and reassignment ceremonies

  • Wedding celebrations*, vow renewals and also anniversary ceremonies

  • Big birthday occasions, free of illness and treatment celebrations

  • Master of Ceremonies for awards, achievements and after dinner speaking

All of the above are conducted in a way that warmly celebrates, tributes or gives a very person centred and human touch to your special moments.

I’ve been a family and funeral celebrant now for ten years this year and have conducted over 3,000 ceremonies of all kinds and in all places for some wonderfully amazing and positive occasions and some heartfelt goodbyes.

I specialise in funeral ceremonies and over the years have conducted many touching, humorous, unique or indeed very emotional and difficult ceremonies for families who have lost someone very special.

My almost thirty years experience in personal therapy (see below), leaves you in very capable and experienced hands when looking after you. I have also been a fully trained, qualified and registered member of the United Kingdom Society of Celebrants for almost ten years.

Everything I do is with a very personal, tailored and bespoke approach. I love to laugh, bring warmth and humour where appropriate, but most of all help to bring a very authentic feel to my work for you.

Please do get in touch with me using the contact form or my details below. I'm always happy to help guide you in the right way. With Funeral Ceremonies, please pass my name and details to your funeral director and they will arrange everything for you.

Best wishes,
Alan

HYPNOTHERAPY

HYPNOSIS - NLP - PSYCHOTHERAPY - WORKSHOPS

I have had a very interesting and very personal journey with Hypnotherapy since the age of fourteen when it helped be incredibly negotiate my own early journey in life. I’m now 48 and having worked through some difficult issues of my own, hypnosis and hypnotherapy inspired me to then train and help others in the same way.

My early inspiration came from Paul McKenna in the early nineties, who I’m very grateful to have trained with through many online training webinars, and also personally earlier this year. He, and also Richard Bandler, one of the founders of NLP and pioneers of modern hypnosis, Ericksonian, Conversational and Indirect Hypnotherapy techniques have been instrumental in fuelling my years of knowledge in hypnosis and personal change therapy.

I have been practicing hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and NLP since graduating in June 1996. I qualified as the youngest member of the National Society of Professional Hypnotherapists under the expert watchful eye of Mrs Vicki Watson, through the Twa Acres Hypnotherapy Training Centre in Blairgowrie. Vicki changed my life and continues to be a huge inspiration in my hypnotherapy journey.

I have also trained with British Hypnosis Research in London under the renowned Ericksonian Hypnotherapist Stephen Brooks at the Royal Masonic Hospital in Hammersmith, London. Recently with Scotland's own Ali Campbell, and I have also completed countless refresher and CPD training in all areas of hypnosis, hypnotherapy and NLP including past life regression, psychoanalysis, hypo-analysis, stage and street hypnosis, grief and bereavement and many other areas including with the Open University.

I hold the senior qualification in hypnotherapy practice awarded by the General Hypnotherapy Register and General Hypnotherapy Standards Council. My training in psychotherapy and counselling was conducted under the auspices of the National Council for Psychotherapy and the Institute of Complimentary Medicine and their later formations. I continue to offer these during my practice.

I’ve also lectured for the NHS, demonstrating to medical staff and doctors the efficacy of hypnosis and the power we have over our own minds for pain management, healing and the physiology of the body. I have conducted countless workshops in relaxation, stress management, hypnotherapy and confidence building for performance and also training days, along with years of individual appointments with my clients.

Q:  What is Hypnotherapy?

- it is the use of hypnosis to achieve a therapeutic outcome.

Q:  What is Hypnosis?

- an altered state where access to the unconscious mind is readily available.

Q: Will I Be Out Of Control?

-  Absolutely not, you are always in control.

Q: Will I Be Unconscious?

- No, hypnosis requires you to be conscious, you will find it very relaxing.

Q: Can Everyone By Hypnotised?

- Yes. (see below)

Q: Is hypnosis age limited?

- No. All ages from children to the elderly are welcome.

Q: Are there any contra-indications?

- Yes. If you are in the care of a psychiatrist, their permission will be needed.

Hypnosis is the process of achieving an altered state. A hypnotherapist helps you achieve a resourceful state using various techniques to help you relax, focus and change your thinking and feelings. Hypnosis uses techniques that make changes at an unconscious, sometimes called subconscious level, with your help.

This is only a part of the process, I also use NLP which utilises very fast affecting ways of changing the way you think, therefore changing the way you feel, and vastly increasing what you are then able to achieve in the way of personal change and outcomes in your life. These are included while you are fully aware, conscious and we  do this together. Your empowerment is as important.

Can everyone be hypnotised?

Yes! We all experience altered states all the time, hypnosis is an altered state where you are able to access the unconscious / subconscious part of your mind whilst allowing your conscious, critical and analytical mind to become more passive.

It used to be said that only a certain percentage of the population can be hypnotised. This is only relevant to older methods of hypnosis and to the limited methods used at the time. In modern hypnotherapy, this is not the case and everyone can and does experience achieving altered states.

We all experience moments of dreaming, walking along the road in a daze, driving without being full aware, becoming emotional, exited, happy, sad, elated, passionate, sad, indifferent, focused, scared and so on. These are all altered states where you think and act different way to what you'd consider, 'conscious'.

Hypnosis is an altered state of focus, not of unconsciousness or sleep, although some people are lucky enough to be able to experience very deep states of hypnosis when they wish to, it's not necessary for therapeutic change or hypnotherapy. Most people, achieve hypnosis very easily and very effectively.

What can Hypnotherapy / NLP / Hypnosis help with?

Hypnosis and hypnotherapy is an excellent method of assisting with so many positive and negative behaviours, traits, habits, problems and issues.

The most common areas hypnosis and hypnotherapy is called on to help aid clients with or to help remove are (not limited to):

Unhelpful habits and unwanted behaviours

Addictions and poor coping mechanisms
Unwanted thoughts, fears and phobias

Panic attacks and anxiety disorders
Exam, performance, future event nerves

Depression, low mood, loss, grief

Past trauma, PTSD, sleep issues, nightmares

Performance, sports focus and training

Personal confidence, self esteem / worth

Negative thinking, positive thinking

Enhancing motivation, increased energy

Managing stress and overwhelm

Reactive conditions (skin / bowel flares)

IBS, IBD, nocturnal incontinence

Psycho-sexual problems (if no physical cause)

Pain control and management

Chronic condition symptom management

Chronic / terminal illness symptom management

Psychological / emotional distress

Obsessional thinking, overthinking

Eating and weight control problems

And much more..

This is only a very small example of indications benefiting from the use of hypnosis and professionally aimed clinical hypnotherapy, and also NLP techniques along with traditional psychotherapy and counselling. Past life regression can also be interesting and for clients wishing a more insight and dynamic approach - hypnoanalysis and working through trauma can also be accommodated.

For anything at all, you're better to get in touch or call for a chat. You are assured of a very thorough, warm, authentic, discreet and strictly confidential approach.

Best wishes,
Alan
